Aflac
Let’s get this out of the way. Yes, the duck is a puppet.
It’s rare when you get to work with a mascot that’s been around for 20+ years, so being creative director on an icon who hasn’t aged a day was a huge privilege.
People know Aflac as the insurance you need when you get sick or injured and have to miss work. But in our modern day, more and more people just work from home when they need to. The bigger problem is when you have massive out-of-pocket costs, you cut things you love out of your life, like vacations, hobbies, even little things like cable.
Education rose in the double-digits while maintaining record-high numbers for awareness (80% - 82%). For the first time IN A DECADE, Aflac sales were in the black. (Which the sales team promptly tried to take credit for.)

From one icon to another
When we learned that Aflac's recruiting process mirrored that of a college football coach, we decided to team our duck with the legendary Nick Saban.
Sick moves, bruh
Not fake news
Nobody can explain health benefits. Not even HR.
Not only are benefits hard to explain, we only think about them once a year. We get an email, full of bolded sentences and bullet points that we don’t have time to read because we’re at work. Even if we did, we wouldn’t know what the hell it was talking about it.
So why not get your answers from someone who’s been in the insurance biz for decades? We created a bot on Facebook that allowed people to ask the Aflac Duck anything. What’s the difference between a copay and a deductible? How long is short term disability? Why did the chicken cross the road?
The duck had answers, man.

The Big Announcement
Sex. Drugs. This documentary doesn’t have those. However…
There’s much more to the Aflac duck than a mascot who says the name of the company. Dan Amos, the CEO, took a big risk in the early 2000s that paid off big time. To help cement his legacy, we created a short documentary about the creation and future of the Aflac duck.
The password is the “magic spell” for “open”. If you don’t know it, hit me up. I attended “Hogwarts” from the popular book “Harry Potter”.
I will kill the next person who calls this a “duckumentary”
The Nest
I’ve never built a department from scratch. But there was no better time than when we were asked to help bring our campaign to life through social. So, we created the Nest. We found space, invested in the set, and bought a duck. In four months, we raised our insta presence 15% and were receiving higher than average interactions. We went to the Grammy’s, the AMA’s, met pop star Bebe Rexe and PJ Morton. Best of all, I know how to do this now.
Small sample of the work we created below.
